Experts at the College of Co College of Medication maintained to find a kind of a special substance that can avoid the development of form 1 diabetes in rats, and have the same result on human being tissue of diabetes patients.
Researchers trust these results into new trust in the combat against diabetes, especially form I, while also other autoimmune conditions such as joint disease (RA), ms and coeliac (inflammation of the tiny intestine). The results are publicized in the latest issue of The Paper of Immunology.
"We discovered that when you place a certain substances into specific design purses, it will be able to avoid the structure of diabetes," said Henry Eisenbarth, MD, Ph.D., management home of the Barbara Davis Center together with Aaron Michels, MD, associate lecturer from the College of Co College of Medication.
Researchers are looking for tiny substances capable of completing the purses along the dance presenting protein. Several substances are known to go into the purses and avoid the display of shots to boost cell health.
As is known, form I diabetes is a condition where the body is incapable to produce shots because the pancreatic is not performing due to destroyed defense mechanisms itself (autoimmune).
Michels and Eisenbarth Glyphosine discovered that substances able to improve the display of shots and avoid diabetes in rats. This has the same result on human being tissue. In fact according to them, the rats can remain free of diabetes during getting daily shots of the substance. However, in rats that already have diabetes, it would not be useful.
"This technique will also apply to other autoimmune conditions such as joint disease and coeliac disease," said Michels.
He added, for the next step will be tests specifically on human being tissue and build a new remedy to be used scientifically. This at least will appear within the next five years.
